Facelift

Face lifting is a surgical procedure performed to improve the signs of aging on your face and neck. With aging, the skin loses its elasticity and sagging occurs in the skin and subcutaneous tissues with the effect of gravity. With cheek sagging, cheekbones appear flatter and there is a distinct fold between the nose and cheek. Again, with the sagging of the cheek, sagging on the chin edges becomes evident. There is a downward falling on the lip edges. With the atrophy of the fat tissue under jaw area, sagging of the skin and a turkey neck appearance occur.

Face lift surgery is usually performed together with neck lift and is performed under general anesthesia in a hospital environment. It takes 2-3 hours on average and you stay in the hospital for 2 days. It is performed with an incision that extends into the scalp in the temple area, continues in front of the ear, and extends into the scalp behind the ear. Keeping this incision short is called a mini-facelift and there is no neck lift in this procedure. The skin is removed from the incisions, and the thin muscle layer under our face and neck skin is reached. If only the excess skin is removed and stretching is performed without interfering with this muscle layer, the result will be very short-term. For this reason, the thin muscle layer under the skin is definitely intervened and the main stretching process is done from here. This intervention is either by lifting the muscle and removing the excess part or by stretching it with a method called plication. Afterwards, the excess on the skin is removed and the procedure is completed.

After the operation, your face is bandaged. These surgical dressings are removed before discharge and a special mask is given and it is recommended to use it for 4 weeks. In the first 2-3 weeks after the surgery, there is significant swelling on the face and you may find your image strange when you look in the mirror for the first time.
