Liposuction is a type of body shaping method. It provides you with more defined body lines and a more correct proportion by removing the resistant and excess fat tissues in certain areas. Its results are more precise and predictable than non-surgical methods.

General application areas are leg, abdomen, hip, waist, upper arm, back, neck, and chest. Liposuction can be applied alone or combined with other body shaping surgeries (tummy tuck, breast reduction, arm lift, face lift, etc.), it is an auxiliary method that provides better results.

Liposuction is not a weight loss method. It only allows you to get rid of fat that is resistant to sports and diet, so you get more proportional body lines. Also liposuction is not a type of cellulite treatment method. However, since the bonds between the skin and the adipose tissue are broken during the procedure, the cellulite appearance disappears or decreases relatively.

Liposuction is a type of surgery and is performed under general or local anesthesia in the operating room environment. It is named in different ways according to the method used and technological development such as classical, laser, ultrasonic, radiofrequency or vaser. Basically, they are all based on the same principle, and the purpose is to break down the fat tissue and remove it from the body and permanently destroy it.

After the procedure, the patient is dressed in a special pressurized corset and this is used for 4-6 weeks. The duration of the operation varies for the area to be treated. Depending on the size of the procedure and general anesthesia, the patients can stay in the hospital for 1 day or be discharged on the same day. There may be slight bruising and swelling at the beginning, the bruises are regressed within 1 week, the swellings are regressed in 6-8 weeks, and a definite result occurs for 3-6 months.
