The surgery is performed under general anesthesia and takes an average of 1-1.5 hours. You stay in the hospital for 1 day. At the end of the surgery, a plastic mold is placed on the outside of the nose with silicone pads with an air channel in the middle that allows you to breathe from nose. Silicone pads placed in the nosethrils are taken within 2-7 days, depending on the procedure. The plastic mold placed on the outside of the nose is removed in 5-7 days and then the strips are atached for support. These strips are also kept for 1 week.
There may be slight red discharge in the nose for the first 24-48 hours after the surgery and this is normal. It is recommended to lie with the head slightly elevated (2 pillows) for 1 week in order to reduce the bruising and swelling that may develop after the surgery. Nasal congestion may occur from time to time for up to 3 months after the surgery, swelling may be seen at the tip of the nose in the morning, there may be a feeling of stiffness and numbness in the nose. These will improve over time. After the operation, glasses should not be used for 3 months, you should protect your nose against impacts for 6 months.
