Rhinoplasty or aesthetic nose surgery is an operation that reshapes the nose and makes it compatible with the face. In aesthetic nose surgeries, the size or width of the nose can be changed in accordance with the balance in the face; arch or collapse that is evident in the sideways posture; the low nose tip and asymmetry or size in the nostrils can be eliminated. The aim of these surgeries is to obtain a result that does not disturb the balance of the nose in the face and has the right proportions. Therefore, the same surgical technique not suitable to everyone, and the results are also personalized.

In addition to change the shape of the nose, if there is a problem of breathing it can be solved. These reasons; The curvature of the cartilage part (septum) that separates the right and left sides in the middle of the nose, the growth of the mucosal (nasal meat) and thin bone structures (concha) covering the inside of the nose and causing congestion for various reasons or insufficiency of the cartilage structures inside (nasal valve) may also occur. With the determination of this reasons that prevent adequate breathing through the nose, both your nose shape can be corrected and these problems can be eliminated in the same session.

The surgery is performed under general anesthesia and takes an average of 1-1.5 hours. You stay in the hospital for 1 day. At the end of the surgery, a plastic mold is placed on the outside of the nose with silicone pads with an air channel in the middle that allows you to breathe from nose. Silicone pads placed in the nosethrils are taken within 2-7 days, depending on the procedure. The plastic mold placed on the outside of the nose is removed in 5-7 days and then the strips are atached for support. These strips are also kept for 1 week.

There may be slight red discharge in the nose for the first 24-48 hours after the surgery and this is normal. It is recommended to lie with the head slightly elevated (2 pillows) for 1 week in order to reduce the bruising and swelling that may develop after the surgery. Nasal congestion may occur from time to time for up to 3 months after the surgery, swelling may be seen at the tip of the nose in the morning, there may be a feeling of stiffness and numbness in the nose. These will improve over time. After the operation, glasses should not be used for 3 months, you should protect your nose against impacts for 6 months.
